Duister toerisme gelinkt aan de Tweede Wereldoorlog heerst in Krakau. Toeristen smullen er
van plekken waar ooit dood en verderf hebben plaatsgevonden. De Instagrampagina van
het Plein van de Helden van het Getto illustreert hoe jonge mensen anno 2018 de oorlog
herdenken. Dit essay is herschreven als onderdeel van een mentoraat bij het platform voor
prille essayisten De Nieuwe Garde. Mijn mentor en begeleider was Ferdinand Lankamp,
historicus en auteur bij Uitgeverij Atlas Contact.

places where death and perdition have ocurred in the past. The Instagram page of The
Heroes of the Getto Square illustrates how young people deal with war memorial today.
